Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has assured that no school in the state will face a teacher shortage in the upcoming academic session. During a meeting with the Education Department officials, he outlined a plan to ensure that every school maintains a proper student-teacher ratio as per the National Education Policy (NEP).

Addressing Teacher Shortage

The CM clarified that there is no actual teacher shortage in Haryana; the issue lies in the allocation of teachers according to the number of students. To resolve this, a comprehensive action plan will be implemented to ensure that any shortage is met by rationalizing teacher assignments across schools.

Focus on Quality Education

Saini stressed the need to build public confidence in government schools and encouraged more children to enroll in them. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to quality education and improving the infrastructure in schools, including facilities such as drinking water, toilets, and overall cleanliness.

Integrating Bhagavad Gita into Curriculum

In line with the NEP, the CM proposed that the Bhagavad Gita be introduced in the curriculum up to Class VIII to instill moral values in students.

Emphasis on Sports and Skills Development

Saini also emphasized the importance of incorporating sports and cleanliness as compulsory subjects. Furthermore, he called for enhancing teacher skills to ensure they are equipped to adopt new teaching methods.

Expansion of Model Sanskriti Schools

The Haryana government has already set up Model Sanskriti Schools at the block level, offering education in mathematics, science, and English. Due to high demand, Saini called for increasing the number of these schools to meet the growing competition for admissions.

Development and Monitoring of Educational Infrastructure

The CM urged the authorities to expedite pending development projects and set specific deadlines for each task. Strict actions will be taken against contractors who fail to meet the deadlines. Saini also emphasized the need for monitoring students’ educational progression and ensuring that students from rural areas have access to competitive exam preparation resources.

Future Plans for Higher Education

In reviewing the Higher Education Department, Saini directed officials to submit reports on the facilities and infrastructure in colleges to address any deficiencies. Additionally, he urged the development of smart classrooms for competitive exam preparation to provide rural students with better resources.

Establishing Reading Rooms for Students

As part of his initiative to provide better learning resources, Saini announced plans to set up a reading room in Panchkula, ensuring students have access to quality reading material without having to travel to Chandigarh.

Conclusion

With these measures, Haryana is set to enhance its educational system, ensuring quality education, addressing teacher shortages, and improving resources for students across the state.
