The Hisar Police have registered an FIR against police officers involved in the alleged killing of a Dalit youth named Ganesh. His family and supporters had been protesting for 11 days, demanding justice and accountability.
Authorities filed the case on July 17 under sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

Officials had planned to relocate the police chowki in the 12 Quarters locality due to lack of space. But when local residents and shopkeepers raised objections, the police cancelled the move.
SP Shashank Kumar Sawan explained that the department wanted a site with better infrastructure, but after hearing the public’s concerns, they decided to keep the post in its current place.
