Haryana’s Energy Minister Anil Vij has announced a significant initiative to establish solar power houses in every village across the state. This move aims to promote solar energy among farmers, especially to ensure uninterrupted electricity for tubewells. The goal is to facilitate seamless agricultural operations and address the challenges faced by farmers in regions with deep water levels, where conventional motors may not be effective.
Vij highlighted that the initiative is tailored to meet the specific needs of farmers, particularly those in areas where a 10-kilowatt motor cannot function optimally due to high water levels. He emphasized that the Haryana Government is actively exploring ways to make this project a success. The announcement was made during a regional workshop organized by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in Jaipur, where key figures such as Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi discussed the future of renewable energy, including important schemes like PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the PM-KUSUM scheme.
Recognizing Haryana’s progress in the solar energy sector, the state’s power distribution companies were awarded significant incentives for their efforts in the rooftop solar sector. Haryana remains committed to empowering farmers with renewable energy solutions, positioning solar energy as a crucial part of the state’s agricultural transformation.
