Biting cold weather continues to grip Haryana and Punjab, with Narnaul emerging as the coldest place in Haryana and Bathinda in Punjab on December 31, 2024.
In Haryana, Narnaul recorded a minimum temperature of 4.5°C, two degrees below the normal average. Other areas in Haryana also experienced chilly conditions, with Hisar at 6.8°C, Bhiwani at 6.7°C, and Sirsa at 7.4°C. Ambala saw a low of 9.1°C.
Meanwhile, in Punjab, Bathinda was the coldest spot with a recorded minimum temperature of 5°C. Sangrur experienced a temperature of 5.3°C, while Faridkot recorded 6°C. Major cities like Ludhiana, Patiala, and Amritsar saw minimums of 7.4°C, 8.9°C, and 9°C, respectively. Chandigarh, the shared capital of both states, recorded a minimum of 9.4°C.
Residents in these regions are urged to take precautions against the intense cold, which is expected to persist for the coming days.
