A shocking discovery was made near the Sampla bus stand on the Rohtak-Delhi highway, where an unidentified woman’s body was found stuffed inside a suitcase, police reported on Saturday.
Abandoned Suitcase Raises Alarm
The suitcase was first spotted by commuters, lying abandoned 200 meters from the Sampla bus stand in Rohtak district. Upon noticing it, they immediately informed the police.
Woman’s Identity Yet to Be Confirmed
Upon opening the suitcase, police found the body of a young woman, estimated to be between 22 and 25 years old. According to Rohtak police spokesperson Sunny Loura, the woman had injury marks on her neck, indicating possible strangulation. Efforts are underway to ascertain her identity.
Forensic Team Collects Evidence
Sampla police station officer Bijender Singh, along with a forensic team, arrived at the scene to gather crucial evidence. “It appears that the victim was strangled before being placed inside the suitcase. We are now examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to determine when the suitcase was left there,” said the officer.
Body Sent for Autopsy & Identification
The body has been sent to PGIMS Rohtak, where it will be kept for 72 hours to help identify the victim. A post-mortem examination will confirm the exact cause of death.
Police Continue Investigation
Authorities are actively investigating the case and urge anyone with relevant information to come forward. The search for the suspect(s) is ongoing, and police are determined to bring justice to the victim.
