Massive Exam Cheating Scandal Uncovered In a shocking case of exam fraud, 34 individuals were caught impersonating students in the Haryana Class 10 board exams in Nuh. Most of those involved were not motivated by money but by personal relationships, including love and family obligations.

Impersonation for Love and Family Ties

Two of the arrested individuals claimed they were taking the exams for their girlfriends’ brothers to prove their loyalty and love. Many others, including family members and friends, stepped in to help academically weak students. Authorities also revealed that six of those caught were minors.

Exam Malpractices Despite Strict Security

On March 3, approximately 2.93 lakh students appeared for the Class 10 English exam across Haryana. Despite tight security measures, authorities detected 79 cases of cheating, with multiple arrests.

At Mount Aravalli Public School in Nuh, police caught 34 impersonators after receiving reports of fraud. The accused, all of whom had already passed Class 12, stood up and confessed when questioned by officials.

Board Exam Security Breaches & Paper Leaks

This scandal follows recent exam paper leaks that rocked Haryana. On February 27, the Class 12 English paper was leaked, followed by the Class 10 Maths paper on February 28. This led to 32 officials being suspended, including four DSPs and 25 police personnel.

The Haryana government has now handed over exam security management to district authorities, with the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) taking charge.

Cheating Gangs Operating for Profit

Authorities suspect some impersonators were part of organized cheating gangs. Three individuals admitted to accepting Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per paper to take exams on behalf of others.

Meanwhile, in Baroda, Sonipat, videos surfaced showing cheat sheets being thrown over school walls. Following a viral video, police arrested seven individuals involved in the act.

Enhanced Security Measures to Curb Cheating

Despite strict anti-cheating measures, fraudsters continue to find loopholes. In Jhajjar, police stationed officers on rooftops to prevent people from tossing answer sheets into exam halls. Students were even required to remove their shoes before entering the examination rooms.

In Nuh, police deployed batons to prevent mass cheating and cleared a 500-meter radius around exam centers. Schools installed barbed wire fences on walls to stop individuals from throwing in cheat materials.

A 1,000-strong police force was deployed across Nuh, and schools hosting board exams were ordered to suspend regular classes after 10:30 AM to prevent unauthorized access.

Flying Squads and Strict Monitoring in Place

To further prevent cheating, authorities have set up 219 flying squads and appointed special observers at sensitive exam centers. These officials have been given on-the-spot decision-making powers to take immediate action against any malpractice.

The Haryana government remains committed to ensuring fair and transparent board exams, with increased security measures in place to curb fraudulent activities in the future.
